Eight stylish Perth kitchens to inspire your new project or renovation.
1. Light impact
Stylish Perth Kitchens Flooded with natural light from an internal courtyard, this contemporary kitchen in a beachside home (above) was designed, built and installed by Western Cabinets.
“Mirrored splashbacks reflect the courtyard’s natural light and the materials we’ve used create such a great impact in this design,” designer Alysia Pekel said.
The island is clad in an innovative product called Neolith by CDK Stone and combines marble look with the practicality of a highly durable surface.
The sink-less island allows more space for food preparation and serving. While the concealed pantry and scullery provides another handy work zone.
Finishes include spotted gum timber veneer, warm whites, mirror, marble and copper.

2. Island life
This Melville kitchen was designed by Angela Lyon, a stylist with furniture and homewares store Pottery Barn.
“The concrete island is my absolute favourite feature,” she said of the kitchen.
Teamed with matte black cabinetry by Delta Cabinets. The island benchtop by Concrete Studio are the ideal spot for food preparation, family dinners and entertaining friends. Floating jarrah shelves against a white subway-tiled splashback are another highlight, while timber stools add texture.

3. Design showcase
You would expect the owner of a stylish Perth kitchen and bathroom design company to have a pretty special kitchen. Retreat Design’s Steve Johnson’s Floreat kitchen exceeds that expectation.
It showcases cabinetry by Italy’s Arrital Cucine, fixtures from Gessi, Rifra and Karol, and a floating Miele range hood.
“The benchtop and splashback are a honed Silestone Blanco Zues (a natural quartz product) in a suede finish,” Mr Johnson said.

4. Relaxed sophistication
The owners of this Mt Claremont kitchen wanted a modern space that would suit their family’s needs and their relaxed style of entertaining.
Designed by Jenny Burgess of Texture Studio and built by Bungalow Building Co, it features white concrete benchtops, plywood and 2 Pac panels, and a denim-blue subway tile splashback.
Red bar stools contrast with the moody background hues while the white fridge blends seamlessly into the cabinetry.

Another stylish Perth kitchen utilises technology where a touch of the magnetic splashback causes it to open to reveal storage behind. Another section folding down to reveal an integrated chopping board, knife rack and spice jars – is recessed into the wall. Everything is in very easy reach.
Perhaps the boldest design statement in the showroom is a bright lime green kitchen cabinet with multi-changing lights beneath that really grab attention.
Western Cabinets Design and Sales Manager Simon Cox said each one of the showroom kitchens draws extensively upon Hettich cabinetry hardware and lighting.
5. American influence
This elegant stylish Perth space combines elements such as stained American white oak, with finer details such as the double-curved edge (called French Ogee) of the island.
“The timber bench looks more like a piece of furniture and contrasts with the soft white of the Shaker-profile cabinetry,” Oswald Homes interior designer Danielle Ellery said.
A chocolate stone bench on the rear wall has creamy marbling. Highlights picked up by the antique brass handles and travertine marble floor. Antique brass pendant lights were imported from America while a servery window adds charm.

6. Perfectly practical
More than anything else, it’s the practicality that Tania McMurtrie loves most about her plantation-style kitchen.
Everyday food items are stored in an under-bench refrigerator drawer. There’s a cool room in the scullery and a commercial dishwasher makes life easier for the Cottesloe family.
For the floors, wide jarrah boards have been stained black. The benchtops are black granite and the splashback is a durable porcelain product that’s made to look like Calacatta marble, from the Maximum Marmi collection by Artedomus.
“I really love everything we’ve chosen and that everything we’ve chosen I use and love,” Ms McMurtrie said.

7. Mix and match
This stunning kitchen draws on Tasmanian oak and copper highlights, including a copper-painted window frame and a trio of pendant lights by Coco Flip.
“Some of the light fittings and air-conditioning vents within the timber (ceiling) lining have been powder-coated with metallic copper to match the window frame”. Hayley Gardner, an interior designer with West-style Design & Development, said.
As well as the attention to detail, the kitchen is not short on luxury with travertine floor tiles, titanium granite benchtops and European appliances.

8. Raw materials Emma Potter and husband
Martyn took on the renovation of their 1970s Italian mansion as owner/builders.
Mrs Potter, of Breadbox Marketing, designed the kitchen, removing the jarrah-heavy original to make way for a stylish space featuring European oak, stainless-steel and white cabinetry, recycled bricks, and a pegboard splashback in the hidden scullery.
“We incorporated lots of raw materials that will only get better with age,” Mrs Potter said.
